Poker Tell - Sudden interest.
This poker tell is one that you will see quite often. It is especially telling when you see someone that folds a lot and shows a lot of patience at the poker table. All of the sudden this player sees his hole cards and straightens up or maybe leans forward, you can be almost certain that he has a strong starting hand. Being able to spot poker tells relies on you paying attention to the table. This means don’t look at your cards until you have too watch the poker players at the table. When the flop comes watch the poker players at the table don’t look at the flop. This will make it much easier to spot tells. In online poker it doesn’t matter you can’t see them anyhow but in a live poker game it’s an important skill to attain to become good at spotting these kinds of tells. When a guy shows sudden interest it is a sure sign that he has a good hand. In order for you to see slight mannerism changes like he straightens out or maybe he just sits up or leans on the table after sitting there with his hands folded. The better the poker player the harder it will become to read him or her therefore you will be working with small clues. Since most of the tells are momentary little lapses that are a second or so long its is important to pay attention to the players to pick up on the little clues they give you. In online poker you loose much of that ability so you should spend your focus on looking at betting patterns and then act according to that information. So in online poker as well as live poker paying attention and focusing is important. If anyone ever tells you they are bored at the table they are not being all they could be when it comes to poker. A good poker player is watching the hands he is not in and learning his opponents to use that information against them when he is in the hand with them. So next time just watch the players and see what you can learn. So remember when someone shows sudden interest in a hand be careful. One other tell that goes hand in hand with this is when you are in a conversation with a player at the table and all of the sudden the player goes quiet in the middle of a conversation and gets involved in a pot. It is most likely he has a hand he is going to play. Picking up these poker tells is vital especially if you want to become better at bluffing. Since bluffing is ultimately playing the player and not your cards any little clue as to what the other poker player has will make your bluff attempts more successful.
