Poker Tells from people acting weak when they have are strong hand.
This tells is somewhat useable in online poker. In online poker games it is generally reflected in betting patterns. But in live poker games there are more clues as to what it means when a poker player acts weak or strong. You will be able to see the act not just the betting pattern. In a live poker tournament or a cash game there are certain things that will accompany this tell. It will be a body expression like a shrug or like a look of uncertainty, or when the poker player tries to look uninterested. Now if you are familiar with poker tells you will also notice that some of the thing I just mentioned are also the same types of tells that you would interpret as just what they may be that some one has a weak hand however, most of the time if you put a little logic behind it. Why would a guy with a strong hand chase you out of the hand or why would a guy with a weak hand make a bet while shrugging like he is unsure of the bet if he really was unsure wouldn’t he want to not show that? So really when trying to figure out what it means when a player acts strong or weak depends upon the player. You have to observe the player and find out if he is the type of poker player that will put on an act to make you think he is weak when he is strong and act strong when he is weak. Now once you have pegged a guy for putting on a act like that you can sorely disappoint him. When he acts strong and you have a marginal hand it is likely to be the best hand you can call him down or re raise him which is also a good play to end a hand when you think he doesn’t have anything but neither do you. When he acts weak and makes small bets you know to fold unless you have a very strong hand as well. Here is an example of a poker player doing the weak when he is strong thing. This happened a few months ago in a local poker tournament. A very loose player that was limping in a lot and was fairly passive on the flop comes in the flop is AA6 he is in early position and the blinds are 50 the first two guys ck he looks at his hand again and kind of shrugs his shoulder just a little and bets the min bet 5 this is a 5 way pot. Everyone calls except for me I folded out I had a feeling based on the behavior he has a strong hand. Sure enough the turn is a 8 he bets 100 3 guys fold out two call the river is 2 but now the flush hit one of the other guys all of the sudden bets he reraises now other guy calls, turns out he had A6 and flopped a full house. I saved some chips there by being able to recognize the act. A lot of poker players are concerned with making a lot of chips on their big hand which definitely is important however equally important is minimizing your losses. This is very important in poker tournaments and cash games a like.
