 What does it mean when a poker player appears to be fearless.
In online poker this tell will not be important
since you can not see the person. In online
poker as well as real live poker games one important skill a
successful poker player must learn to posses that is equal to winning big on big
hands is to learn to not loose big. This sounds simple but sometimes it is not.
Have you ever been in a poker game where you felt you were beaten but you just
could not lay the hand down. This happens a lot when you hold a high
pocket pair like Aces or Kings and the flop comes 8910 you bet and the other guy
keeps re raising you. You just can seem to let go off those aces. This section
of poker tells talks about what does it look like when someone has a strong hand
like they flopped a straight. This sounds silly enough but this poker tell is
equally as important to spot as the poker tells that show weakness. You
want to know if your opponent is weak or strong so that way you can either bluff
him off a hand or get him to pay you off with a second best hand or you need to
fold to minimize your losses. Minimizing your losses is an important aspect of online
poker and live games a like.
Ok when a poker player has a strong hand he will seem
fearless. What that means is he is likely to be in a good mood be chatty and he
will be able to answer questions without any problems. Where when someone is
bluffing you will find that they will try to be motionless as too not give away
anything at all. Someone that is able to chat with you about politics or the
weather in a coherent manner is likely to be strong. This usually means the hand is so strong
that it does not require any thought. A real no brainer!! So when you see
this watch out. As with any tell if youre out of the hand and get to see a guy
showdown when he acts this way you can confirm the tell. Just like all poker
tells it depends on the person. Usually a bluff
will look more controlled the person may be projecting strength but he will
likely be less animated and not very talkative.
So usually when someone is fearless and can just sit and
converse at the table in the hand about unrelated subjects he is likely to be
strong also a genuine smile is a dead give away. Next time you are playing in a
live game and not online try and see if you can pick up on fearlessness and see
what they had. You will find that most of the time this tell is accurate. As
with all tells it all depends on the person. I always try and get confirmation
of a tell when possible before acting up on it. However poker is a game where
sometimes you have to make a decision in a vacuum using very little information
to make a decision. In this situation it is best to take a moment think about
the hand the betting and what is a possible hand then take all the factors and
make your best decision.
